Considering the incommodious economy challenges that affect everybody, it has been discovered that entrepreneurs are the first to rebound and lead the way to recovery. In fact, during tough times, is when the smartest business people become the most profitable and go through the most rapid growth and expansion. Many businessmen get worried during economic crisis, instead of them using it as an opportunity to making more money because the public would be very much in need of several services so as to recover from their loses.
“To be successful, you have to have your heart in your business, and your business in your heart.” – Thomas J. Watson.
Flexibility in your business makes you have an edge over competitors. “Whenever you are asked if you can do a job, tell ‘em, ‘Certainly, I can!’ Then get busy and find out how to do it.” – Theodore Roosevelt. Any industry your business is created from, you have to let your customers know that you can render or provide any services they will be needing. It is important to learn from mistakes and know how your competitors operate too, to have an advantage over them and learn from their failures.
PLAN YOUR SUCCESS
“In preparing for battle I have always found that plans are useless, but planning is indispensable.” – Dwight D. Eisenhower.
Running a one-person business is a creative, flexible and challenging way to become your own boss and your own future. It is about creating a life, as it is about making a living. It takes courage, determination and foresight to decide to become an entrepreneur. If you want to be a successful young entrepreneur, you need to be quick enough to recognize the changes around you and position yourself to capitalize on those trends.
Here are the secrets on how to be a successful young entrepreneur:
- Observe changes
- Recognize opportunity
- Be unique
- Learn how to sell
- Focus on your strengths
- Build a good relationship with your customers
- Never consider the possibility of failure
- Work hard
We both know the most constant thing in life is change. So, what has changed around you? It is necessary to observe changes so as to take opportunity of it. Your business can only develop because of the needs of people. If they don’t need your services they won’t patronize you. The things that are changing is how our culture consumes which as affected several business. A good entrepreneur should be able to observe changes with respect to his products or services. Are your customers consuming more or less? Is there a close substitute competing with your product or service in the market?
To be a successful young entrepreneur you need to take necessary opportunities that come your way. You need to recognize all the great opportunities that you have the ability to capitalize on. You need to have an idea of people’s needs but not too many people can deliver the needs to the public. If you have something that a lot of people want but not too many people can deliver, you will make money. It is important to have ideas on how to minimize risks associated with your plans. A great opportunity is one that is actually within your reach. Successful entrepreneurs don’t chase opportunities that they can’t utilize or capitalize oon. Instead, they build their power from the ground up; building momentum with smaller ideas.
Your brand needs to be different from others in the same market with you. You have to have a unique approach to your market, your products or services. If you’re not unique, it will be really difficult for someone to buy from you. Additionally, you must be able to explain your product features or information with simple words for better understanding by customers.
LEARN HOW TO SELL
Selling is extremely important in business because that is the only way you can make sales, which could be done in different forms. Some would say selling is a talent. They say you need to be born with it before you can make sales. I completely disagree with that. It takes patience and desire to learn skills on how to sell. You can contact me personally on that. Selling can be difficult but by the time you do the right things it would be as easy as writing your name.
FOCUS ON YOUR STRENGTH
Let’s be realistic; you cannot be everything or perfect in all. We all have our own strengths and weaknesses. To be effective, you need to identify your strengths and concentrate on it. We all have our strength which can make us stronger. You will become more successful if you are able to channel your efforts to areas that your strength lays (what you do best). In business, for example, if you know you have good marketing instincts, then capitalize on it and seek assistance in areas that you may be poor at, such as accounting. Transform your weaknesses to strength by learning more about the things you don’t know in order to help your business.
BUILD A GOOD RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR CUSTOMER
I have never heard of a smart entrepreneur who doesn’t have a good relationship with his/her customers even if they are so fastidious. How do you expect customers to come back when you cannot satisfy their needs no matter how it is. Before you can secure a good relationship with someone you need to make contact, help to secure the person’s want and learn from the person. You must be able to approach your customer by pleasing their need. It is important to have good attitude towards customers.
“There is only one boss. The CUSTOMER. And he can fire everybody in the company from the chairman on down, simply by spending his money somewhere else.” – Sam Walton
NEVER CONSIDER THE POSSIBILITY OF FAILURE
You need to believe in yourself and your goals. Even if you have failed before that doesn’t give room you should give up. R. H. Macy started seven failed business before finally hitting big with his store in New York City. You should have a strong faith in your idea, your capabilities and yourself. You must believe beyond a shadow of doubt that you have the ability to recognize and fulfill them. Never give up. Have you heard of law of attraction? I would release another article soon on that. Its a must read. You have to be a positive thinker.
“In reading the lives of great men, I found that the first victory they won was over themselves… self-discipline with all of them came first.” – Harry S. Truman.
Self-discipline is the key to success. You need to discipline yourself so as to achieve what others can’t achieve.
“Nothing ever comes to one, that is worth having, except as a result of hard work.” – Booker T. Washington.
Success does find its way to you; you have to find your way to it. To be a successful young entrepreneur you have to work hard and hard. Success is not achieved by sitting down every single day without doing something profitable. Hey!!! get to work. Your success is in your vicinity, search for it. You are in charge. Good luck!!!
